The back (lake side) of the home faces south, so you are able to enjoy the spectacular colors of the morning sunrise and the evening sunsets. Custom Kitchen with large center island (a hidden, surprise pantry) and loads of Mennonite-crafted cherry cabinets which carry into the Living Room by surrounding the gas fireplace. All New appliances in 2017. New Wolf cooktop in 2019. In 2007/2008 added a beautiful main-level Adirondack Room with large fireplace with stone to the ceiling and rich cedar walls and ceiling. In 2011 added vinyl windows which open from the top or the bottom. Winter is the most wonderful time of year to enjoy the porch with a very warm fire (with magnificent draw) and beautiful winter sunsets. There is large walk-in closet in the office. Owner Suite with his/hers closets, newly renovated Bathroom with quartz countertops and air bubbler tub surround, new lighting, drawer pulls, and exquisite tiled shower with skyline door recently completed. All Bedrooms have lake views and attach to Bathrooms (one is a Jack and Jill). Walk into the work-out room and find the door to the “cool” under-porch storage. The Kitchenette has worked out beautifully for house guests and the outdoor lower-level entertaining A large workshop for the handy man has an entrance from the garage or from the lower level. Under the large screened Adirondack porch there is a large outdoor patio for letting the water toys dry off along with a room which you can lock to store skis, tubes, kayaks, etc. BONUS ROOM OVER GARAGE (approximately 1,000 s.f. ) Finished with a large living room/office area, bedroom, full Bathroom and walk-in closet. Furniture in bonus is available. OUTSIDE Recently the top of the driveway was reconstructed for a smooth transition to the driveway. Decorative stone was added. Bluestone front porch and lower level patio. Upper deck has porcelain tiles. Adirondack room has stamped concrete floor. In 2015/2016 had the entire yard (back and front) was torn out, redesigned and replanted (Zoysia Cavalier which we chose to match our neighbor across the street) to include the herringbone paver sidewalk to the lower level. Also had two new rock walls created in the front and side yard. When the grandchildren were younger, the sandy beach, with steps into the water was always loaded with trucks, buckets and shovels. They loved to play in the sand then just step into the shallow water from the stairs!! Oversized three-car garage with staircase entrance to the large workshop which also has access from the lower level. 3M film installed on the large south facing main-level windows and doors to protect furniture and floors from fading. In the winter when there aren’t many leaves on the trees, the inside of our home is very bright. In the summer, we felt we needed protection from the sun (the 3M film can be removed). STORAGE Three large storage areas: 1) Under the front porch on the lower level 2) Walk-in attic is mammoth 3) Storage room added under the screened porch, access from lower patio (outside) or the workshop - perfect to store outdoor furniture, floats, tubes, etc. FYI, there are also knee wall spaces down both sides of the Bedroom in the Bonus Room. History

Seneca was originally founded as Seneca City, named for a Native American village in the area and the Seneca River. Seneca was situated at the intersection of the Blue Ridge Railroad and the Atlanta and Charlotte Air Line Railroad, which are now part of the Norfolk Southern Railway. Two engineers for the Air Line Railroad purchased the land from Colonel Brown of Anderson, South Carolina. The land was divided into one-mile lots stemming from a stake driven into the center of the railroad intersection, which marked the center of town. The town held an auction on August 14, 1873 and Seneca City received a charter on March 14, 1874. It wasn’t until 1908 that the town’s name was changed to Seneca.

Seneca became a prominent marketing and shipping point for cotton, and eventually, a passenger terminal, a number of hotels, and a park — now called Norton-Thompson Park — were built near the railroad tracks. Several textile mills were also erected in Seneca and most have since closed their doors.

The town saw significant growth with the construction of Lake Hartwell in 1963, Lake Keowee in 1971, and Lake Jocassee in 1974.
