223 Luther Land Road: This is a beautifully built home, only 2 years old, on a fantastic waterfront lot with Mountain views, 180 degree lake views, deep water and your own sandy beach! The current owners knew this lot was special when they first saw it and built the perfect home to compliment the many positive features and intangibles that are present. The 3 car garage and circular drive allow for plenty of family and guest parking and you're instantly struck by the panoramic and expansive blue water views. The back of the home is perfectly positioned to take in the expansive views from every room inside and out. Those views range from Northern mountain views, eastern sunrises and mile(s) long lake view south. The main level is spacious and features 2 suites, including the large owner's suite. The owners did a great job balancing the darker rustic tones of beams and hardwood floors with lighter cabinetry, countertops and trim. The kitchen has great working and storage space (don't miss the amazing pantry with cabinets and countertops to match the main kitchen) and opens perfectly to the informal/lakeside dining room and living room. It will be hard not to want to eat on the huge covered deck every night but. you most certainly can as it is protected from the rain and nicely shaded from the afternoon sun! The owners have also pre-plumbed gas and water on the deck should you want to install an outdoor kitchen in the future! The large bonus room, above the 3 car garage, provides great space for additional beds, hobby or whatever suits your needs most...there is a closet, full bath and separate entrance door from the garage so guests could use the bonus room space without accessing the main home. The lower level will spoil any short or long term guests with multiple recreation spaces, second full kitchen, 3 more bedrooms, 3 full baths and good storage. While it will be hard to keep guests away from the water, this lower level will be a ton of fun on rainy or cooler days! One thing the owners really wanted was an amazing view, but some protection from wake and boat traffic--the private beach on this property provides a safe and comfortable spot for swimming or relaxing on busier lake days. The large covered dock provides breathtaking views, deep water, boat lift and 2 jet ski ports. Beckland Estates is a boutique community that has restrictions but no HOA fee and many beautiful new homes. These caliber of waterfront lots is nearly impossible to find anymore and this home is exactly what you'd want to build (and would likely take 1.5+ years to construct). Some additional features include: natural gas heat, tankless gas water heater, multiple fireplaces inside/out, Thermador appliances and property line is at the 800'

History

Seneca was originally founded as Seneca City, named for a Native American village in the area and the Seneca River. Seneca was situated at the intersection of the Blue Ridge Railroad and the Atlanta and Charlotte Air Line Railroad, which are now part of the Norfolk Southern Railway. Two engineers for the Air Line Railroad purchased the land from Colonel Brown of Anderson, South Carolina. The land was divided into one-mile lots stemming from a stake driven into the center of the railroad intersection, which marked the center of town. The town held an auction on August 14, 1873 and Seneca City received a charter on March 14, 1874. It wasn’t until 1908 that the town’s name was changed to Seneca.

Seneca became a prominent marketing and shipping point for cotton, and eventually, a passenger terminal, a number of hotels, and a park — now called Norton-Thompson Park — were built near the railroad tracks. Several textile mills were also erected in Seneca and most have since closed their doors.

The town saw significant growth with the construction of Lake Hartwell in 1963, Lake Keowee in 1971, and Lake Jocassee in 1974.
