WALK TO THE STADIUM!! Post game you can go for a celebratory boat ride from your private dock. This home has everything you need to Staycation, and truly is a Unicorn! There are fewer than 25 homes in downtown Clemson on the lake, and this is one of them! The first thing you will see as you walk through the front door is the gorgeous view of the lake through the massive picture window across the back of the house- it will literally stop you in your tracks. All the historic charm paired with recent updates, including many custom features make this beauty one of a kind! 5 bedrooms & 4 bathrooms are perfect for your family or for friends that want to come to games or just hang out at the lake. During the complete kitchen renovation in 2018, the kitchen was not only upgraded with Chef's kitchen features and appliances, but was expanded to include a custom storage cabinet that also encompasses a pantry and serving station. The extension on the other side includes a very long serving counter, wine cooler, ice maker, and tons of storage. The addition makes entertaining a crowd super easy with the extra space and flow it gives. Two large eating areas allow for many to sit and dine inside, or go out the side door to sit on the stone patio and enjoy the sound of the waterfall and the view of the lake. The main floor also boasts a sunroom with soaring wood ceilings and lake views. The sunroom connects to the living room which has the best view in the house, plus a cozy fireplace. Two main floor bedrooms share a full bath. Entering the main floor master suite, you will be in awe of another soaring wood ceiling, stunning lake views, and a lovely Juliet Balcony perfect for morning coffee. The master bath is a retreat, a sanctuary- remodeled in 2019 it has an oversize custom double vanity, large walk in spa shower, and a gorgeous clawfoot tub positioned under huge windows overlooking the lake, allowing a breathtaking view while relaxing in the bath. There is a washer & dryer in the master suite right beside the large walk in master closet which makes it super convenient, but it is tucked away in an elegant custom made cabinet so you don't even know it is there. Upstairs there is a large loft, a spot for a daybed or pull out sofa, a full bath, and a large yet cozy bedroom that could also be used as a playroom, office, or media room. Downstairs is the 5th bedroom, also a cozy spot with views of the lake, a full en suite bath, and a private den. A separate entrance to this space has allowed the current owners to rent it out on Airbnb and Homeaway. Games, orientations, graduations or just for a Clemson getaway, this is an amazing income producing space. Last year they only rented it out for home football games but received all 5 star ratings from their guests, so this space is in high demand should you decide to continue to utilize it in this manner. Income records can be provided to potential buyers upon request. There is a full size laundry room and a very large 2 car garage with workshop and tons of storage. The garage floor has professional epoxy floor which was added in 2018. The yard has been professionally landscaped and has a tiered waterfall which adds to the Staycation ambiance. There is a pump system that irrigaes the yard from water out of the lake to keep the yard looking beautiful. These systems are no longer allowed but this one has been grandfathered in which will equate to major savings and a beautiful yard. The current owners installed the dock which has a lift and does sit in deep water. The dock has plenty of room for chairs and is a beautiful, peaceful place to hang out, swim, and relax. Golf carts are a part of the culture in this neighborhood and you can drive them to all sporting events or downtown with the proper permit. Strawberry Lane is the most sought after street in Clemson, not to mention that Clemson homes on the lake so close to the stadium rarely come available so do not miss your chance!!s

History

The history of Clemson is inextricably tied to Clemson University, a major public university that dates back to 1889. The area that is now Pickens County was once Cherokee land, until the Cherokee ceded most of their South Carolina land to the colonists in a 1777 treaty. The nearby town of Pendleton was subsequently founded in 1790.

In 1825, U.S. statesman John C. Calhoun established residence in the area in an antebellum plantation house he named Fort Hill. Located on 1,100 acres, the cotton plantation was eventually passed down to one of Calhoun’s daughters, Anna Maria, and eventually her husband, Thomas Green Clemson, when Anna Maria died in 1875. Clemson had a long-time goal of creating an agricultural college in South Carolina, so he deeded most of the estate to the state for that purpose. He specified that Fort Hill, which is now surrounded by the university, remain open to visitors.

Clemson Agricultural College began as a military school when it opened in 1893, and eventually became a civilian, co-educational institution in the 1950s. It was renamed Clemson University in 1964. Today, the city of Clemson continues to grow and thrive, along with the university around which it revolves.
