Midwood Smokehouse

If barbeque is what you’re craving, Midwood Smokehouse is sure to satisfy. Beyond its claim to fame as the home to Charlotte’s best BBQ, Midwood Smokehouse also has tacos, salads and wide variety of sandwiches on the menu, too. 

Intermezzo

Since 2007 this cozy European-style cafe has been cooking their renowned pizzas–complete with handmade dough and mozzarella cheese. 

Snooze

The cutest little breakfast and brunch place–Snooze is home to all things french toast, pancakes, and of course, avocado toast. 

Bistro la Bon

This restaurant describes its plates as “edible art in the form of small plates,” with unmatched flavor combinations that you can’t get anywhere else. Don’t forget to check out their brunch menu, too.

The Diamond Restaurant

Since 1945 this throwback eatery has been serving patrons double decker burgers, hamburger steak, fried chicken and other yummy goodies.

An eclectic little shop, Moxie Mercantile describes itself as a community-centered boutique with unique pieces from local artists. 

Enjoy the Common Market

A twist on the old-school general market you can still find in small towns, Common Market is a convenient store with a modern twist. What was first birthed to give Plaza Midwood residents a spot to pick up necessities has blossomed into a spot to grab a bite, get a drink and meet up with friends.

Bowl at Pinhouse

Appropriately named, Pinhouse is the perfect place to relax with friends. Grab a wristband at the door and immediately get access to over 70 taps that are self-serve style. If you’re hungry you can grab a bite from the full-time food truck that’s parked outside Tuesday through Sunday. And of course, there’s the bowling–you can reserve one of four duckpin bowling lanes online. 

Sip wine at Bohemian Wine Bar

Open Wednesday through Sunday, The Bohemian Wine Bar is a funky, laid back wine bar. Beyond wine, you can sample flatbreads, cheese, charcuterie and even dessert. With the goal of creating the perfect holiday glow, the Christmas Ball Workshop is held each December to help residents make lighted Christmas Balls–talk about a great way to get in the holiday spirit! Finish the day by running in the annual 5K that night and have the opportunity to run through the lighted streets. 

Alternative Transportation Week

As an extremely walkable neighborhood, each year Alternative Transportation Week (ATW) is held to energize residents about using other forms of transportation. Homeowners are encouraged to keep the car in the garage for the week and instead try walking, running, biking, scootering or even taking the bus. The week wraps up with Bikefest— an open streets block party.
