Wow, how lucky I am to work in real estate! Helping people make informed decisions on the greatest purchase of their lives or selling a beloved home to start a new adventure is my forte. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Deana Post and I am a native “Charlottean”. Like many people of my generation, I chose to leave my hometown after college to explore the world and boy, did I! After working my way through and graduating from Winthrop University, off I went to various cities in North Carolina. I taught school, co-owned a construction business specializing in custom-built or historical home renovation, met my husband Alan, and raised two wonderful children, Carrie and Jason Alan and I both wanted to live overseas, so I applied for teaching positions with the Department of Defense and away we went. Our first home away from home was on Guam, then South Korea, and finally we resided in Germany. In each country, we rented or purchased our home, which was quite an experience. Consequently, Alan and I started dabbling in real estate by investing in North Carolina properties, which we managed from abroad. Also, while abroad, I earned a master’s degree in leadership through Michigan State University’s overseas extension program in Plymouth, England. After fourteen amazing years living overseas and literally traveling the globe, Alan and I returned to the Tar Heel State to the nicest, most caring, and genuine people in the world. I am so glad to be back! As Dorothy famously said in The Wizard of Oz, “There’s no place like North Carolina,” or something like that.
