Welcome to Lake Wylie! Lake Wylie is a 12,500 acre reservoir with over 325 miles of shoreline. Public parks and accesses make it easy to enjoy fishing, skiing, sailing, boating, picnicking and swimming. The Lake and its adjoining creeks meander for about 26 miles through two States (North and South Carolina) and three Counties (Mecklenburg, York and Gaston).

Mecklenburg County (NC) to the east of Lake Wylie is home to Charlotte, the largest economic and commercial center in the state. Downtown Charlotte is just a 15 minute commute from the lake, and a three hour drive will take you to the mountains or ocean. The city boasts NFL and NBA teams, a thriving financial and cultural center, and an array of recreational activities including year-round golf.

York County (SC) to the south and southwest of the lake encompasses the communities of Fort Mill, Clover, Lake Wylie and Rock Hill. York County is proud of its southern hospitality and small town atmosphere. It is known for excellent schools, large wooded home sites and equestrian communities, and desirable property taxes.

Gaston County, NC to the northwest is focused on growth and change. Visitors are awed by distinctive waterside communities and inspired by the beauty of Stowe Botanical Gardens. Gaston County is destined to be linked with Mecklenburg via the Garden Bridge within the coming decade.
