Meet Jennifer Matias
It's no surprise Jennifer Matias is a Realtor ready to cheer people on.
She was a softball player and cheerleader growing up , who now cheers her three children on at baseball and softball fields. Her favorite TV shows are "The Biggest Loser" and "Dancing with the Stars." She loves to watch people achieve their dreams, and that includes buying and selling homes.
"I love people stories, and I love to see people transform - where they came from, where they end up and their journey. I like to get to know people and cheer them on. I love beautiful outcomes and being a part of that."
Perhaps that's why this former stay-at-home mom delved into working with her husband investing and flipping homes almost a decade ago, which led to her desire to become a Realtor 8 years ago. "I love working with people , and having the education and expertise to help guide them with contracts and decision making."
Licensed in North and South Carolina, as well as her home state of Florida, her expertise is in listing homes, guiding the first-time or experienced home buyer,as well as short sales, HUD homes and foreclosures. As a former bartender and server, she taps into key skills that make her a great Realtor.
"I know how to hustle and take care of multiple tasks at one time. I know how to talk to people, listen to people and calm people."
But most important, she says, is paying attention to her clients needs. "I really try to listen to what they're saying and find them the closest thing to what they're looking for. Listen first, talk later."
Having worked for other companies, she says the Allen Tate Co. sets Realtors up for success. "They make sure we're educated, and have the best training and support system I've ever been a part of."
A Fort Lauderdale native, she and her family moved to the Carolinas to be closer to other family members, for the schools and weather. They lived the laid back lake life in South Carolina before moving into the city, enjoying all the Queen City offers from ballet and shows uptown to fun places and events for the kids. "The city is very alive and active. It's a fun city with so many things to do. We like the city life." Jennifer and husband Lance of 18 years live in the Blakeney area with their three children. She volunteers with Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools, and enjoys weight lifting, yoga, running and cooking. They also are Providence Country Club members.
