With more than 24 years experience in the relocation field, DJ’s experience includes both private and public sector business. DJ joined Allen Tate Relocation in 1999 after working in different aspects of the relocation industry in Washington, D.C. and Atlanta.
She graduated from Lycoming College in 1984, earned her paralegal certificate from Adelphi and began working in the closing department of a law firm. She quickly realized she enjoyed the relocation business and began her career with a relocation company. She advanced in the business until she was recruited to open an office for Prudential Relocation in Washington, D.C. and secure government business. After growing that office to $8 million in sales, she accepted an offer to join Allen Tate Company in Charlotte.
DJ earned her Certified Relocation Professional (CRP) designation in 1991 and also completed her Global Mobility Specialist (GMS) designation. She is an active member of the Employee Relocation Council (ERC) and Charlotte Metro Area Relocation Council (CMARC), a local council in Charlotte where she often speaks on relocation topics. She received her MBA in 2001.
She has served on the board of National Association of Female Executives (NAFE) and Metropolitan Professional Women (BPW) in Charlotte as well as on the board for the Better Business Bureau. She was a mentor for Choices, a mentoring program, which has been involved with the Girl Scouts and City of Peace.
DJ received the Leadership in Business Award in 1995, was a Chairman Circle Winner in 1996 and received the Community Champion Rising Star Award in 1999 and 2000 for her mission work with Honduras Outreach. Most recently, she received the Chairman’s Service Award from Leading Real Estate Companies of the World (LeadingRE) for outstanding leadership and contributions in 2008.
Her role at Allen Tate Company includes growing the corporate services business and overall relocation business. Each year, Allen Tate Relocation is recognized for outstanding performance. Under her direction, the center achieved the RELO® Quality Certification (RQC). This is the first award of its kind to recognize relocation providers for quality service. Allen Tate Company was also the first recipient of the Diamond Award, the highest honor given by RELO®, a global relocation and real estate organization. They have also received the Crown of Excellence Award, the top award given by LeadingRE, for eight of the past nine years.
