James Ely is a Rochester, New York native who started his own skateboard company at a young age teaching him the value of hard work. In 2009, he relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina to escape the cold weather, travel, and embrace the growing state. During this time, he continued to run his company while building relationships, establishing a brand, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

In 2012, he decided to change careers and attended Wake Technical Community College obtaining a degree in the Culinary Arts. After graduation, he determined Charlotte would be a great area to further his culinary experience. Arriving in Charlotte James was able to secure a job at one of the top restaurants in the city gaining knowledge in time management, organization, attention to detail, and consistency.

After living in Charlotte for a few months, he built a network of friends in the real estate industry and decided it was time to purchase his first home. Having driven through the Ballantyne area a few times he quickly noticed the lovely community, fantastic school systems, shopping, and parks located in the area. Upon the purchase of his first home within the Ballantyne community, James discovered he had a passion for real estate and decided he wanted to help others find a place to call home.

Since, gaining his real estate license James has signed on with Allen Tate Realtors®. His past experiences of owning a business and culinary arts allows a keen eye for detail when showing homes and conducting business. He prides himself on communication of facts, responsiveness, and results, which allows his clients to eel confident and knowledgeable about their decisions. James makes sure his clients are constantly informed throughout the process of buying or selling their home ensuring his clients success in their real estate journey.

When James is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family visiting parks and greenways around Charlotte. He frequently travels the Carolinas hiking in the mountains and relaxing on the coast. When traveling he indulges in new restaurants gaining inspiration from the growing culinary scenes. Cooking is another passion of his using local ingredients from the farmers market in the area to expand his culinary repertoire.
